General guidelines for applicants
Applications will be assessed on the basis of:
- Individual interest related to the study of Gandhi, King, and social justice
- Detailed description provided for leadership skills and aspirations
- Evidence that the applicant is dedicated to the work of the learning experience
- Evidence as to how the learning experience would impact the current/future classroom of the applicant
- Applicant represents a diverse background
- Applicant represents a diverse and/or underserved community

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be between 18-25 years of age
- Proficient in English
- Aspiring to be civic leaders
- Currently enrolled UA/HBCU undergraduate/graduate students or young professional alumni from UA/HBCU
Grant Benefits
- Exchange civic rights ideas and improve leadership skills between US and Indian participants
- Become a part of International Exchange Alumni Network of the ECA
- Round-trip airfare, housing, and meals covered for the duration of residency period in the US and India
- Insurance coverage for the duration of both the residency period
- Travel and transportation fee
